Becoming a Psalm 1 Man or Woman - A Life Saturated in The Kingdom of God

Psalm 1

The Kingdom of God is within us and surrounds us.

Christ through the Person of the Holy Spirit and your Human Spirit

(Proverbs 20:27

27 The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts.)

God the Father and Christ Jesus are fully aware of what you think, what you do and how you sin.

As we grow and mature in our humanity and in our spiritual life, in our spiritual disciplines, we understand that when something in life needs to be done we do it. Yet this is not about performance or even trying harder.

Our work ethic hopefully has been instilled in us and if we are lucky some wise adult has spoken to us about rest and resisting hurry. Workaholism has destroyed the ability of many Christians to focus on the most important person in the world, Christ!

As disciplined Christians we must learn how to turn off the voices of culture and social media and concentrate on what has eternal value. Jesus often said "Go and sin no more and do good!" (paraphrase). Put down your entertainment, make it a habit to pray, confess, and begin repenting. Speak to Christ as the person he is. Christ speaks to us every day as does the Person of the Holy Spirit, but do we listen?

Everything we will do today and everyday leads us to meet the Grace of God.

Your family, your job, the people around you all are leading to and through God's ever present grace.

But that means you must make a commitment to Christ, a commitment to him as a person. You cannot just ignore him all week and then go to church and get a fill up like a gas station. The Christian Way of Life is when your mind, heart and soul become so in love with Christ that all things become secondary. Only then does his wisdom and love flow back into the world around you.

You may be experiencing adversity, difficulty or chronic pain or illness and it may be that only through these things can you finally see the Kingdom of God!

So become a Psalm 1 person and glorify God!!

Psalm 1

1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
