How much lower can the moral standards of our nation get? How many values and virtue can we ignore before we hit bottom?
Members of Congress promoting threats against those they disagree with, giving out phone numbers to make death threats easier.
Parents saluting school board members with a Nazi salute.
Citizens asking when they can start killing government officials.
"Defining Deviancy Down was an expression coined by the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan in 1993. Moynihan based his phrase on the theory of Emile Durkheim that there is a limit to the bad behavior that a society can tolerate before it has to start lowering its standards. In ’93, the senator applied his slogan to the “moral deregulation” that had eroded families, increased crime, and produced the mentally ill “homeless” population.

Charles Krauthammer expanded Moynihan’s phrase by proposing – that not only are we “minimizing what was once considered deviant”, but we were also “finding deviant what was once considered normal”.
Another way of saying that is we call good evil and evil good. We are seeing this deviant thinking and behavior play out in our Executive branch ,congress and senate and in public.
We have given up our "moral purpose' as we commit social suicide, refusing to do our duties, loosing all moral constraints...anything goes.
In government we have congress and senate members threating each other. Our former president had no scruples and not only encouraged dishonesty and cruelty but demanded of those that worked for him. Death threats for public servants that are attempting to serve the public are common.
Anything goes...
Lyndon Johnson's Great Society changed our self-reliance into relying on the government to solve all our problems, a form of socialism that has undermining our capitalist system and continues to be promoted by many in the Democrat Party.
The opposite swing of the pendulum has brought us authoritarianism and fascism, ignited by Trump, promoted by others.
Both choices will burn the nation down and continued in all walks of American life.
We Fear Man more Than God
We fear elections and politicians more than we fear God.
We make bad decisions and sin to please others, while we find affirmation in what others say about us.
We are Christians in word only.

Mocking, Hateful Speech and Actions are Not in the Way of Christ
Being right about the moral condition of our nation has never been an excuse for becoming like those we revile!
Yet today many claiming to be Christians are doing just that.
Now Doug Wilson has a great point about not being NICE. Yet I cannot accept the public rant by many that we must be Anarchist Christians to save our nation. A NATION THAT HAS BEEN EVIL TO THE CORE FOR MANY YEARS NOW! Pastor Wilson does state that Christ is the answer and nothing else.

We Have Lost Our Moral Imagination
We stumble over our own sins of abortion, pornography, adultery and cheating (to name a few) and dishonesty to yell and scream about masks and vaccines. We don't care anymore about the judgement of God we are more concerned about what other people will say about our moral judgements.
There is no doubt we as Christians must not be sheep led to the slaughter but must speak up as a person of faith and act in society to glorify and honor Christ and help others. we must oppose evil wherever it may be.
The question I believe we must ask ourselves is how deviant and depraved are we going to become in doing this, will we let ourselves become like the sinful world around us as we try to save it?
