We as sinful humans are blinded to many things in our lives.
We live as sojourners in a foreign land, which is hostile to us.
Everything that belongs to the God of this world, (Satan) is in opposition to us and our Lord.
We live in the not now time in history.
When Christ said the Kingdom of God was at hand, he meant it!
Imminently His Kingdom was “at hand’ if we recognize that God’s Time is vastly different than ours. The span of human history is but a blink of the eye for our Lord.
As God’s chosen ones we are holy and beloved, with compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and if we have a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. (Colossians 3:12–13)
We are already holy and beloved as we pursue a life worthy of the gospel with a gospel footing. The road ahead is already holy and beloved of God. There then is no need to work your way into God the Father’s love or achieve his holiness because Christ has done it for you in your place.
Romans 13:14
14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
The reality we so often forget as we attempt to change and correct our lives and our sin in our own strength is that we are already God’s chosen. We can choose to dig deep into the sin of self-pity. We can choose to not really pray and develop a relationship with our living Lord. Christ will let you. We can look for relief in books and social media and seek a savior in a politician or politics, but ALL will fail.
We are rich beyond measure as God himself as our treasure.
The penalty of our sins was received by Christ and the result is we received his perfect life. Even before we make progress in our Christian life we are loved and accepted. This allows us to make the great strides in the Christian life, progress, and blessings beyond our understanding!
So do not be blinded by your weakness and sins, confess your inadequate strength to God and seek his healing, wisdom, and discernment. Do not turn away from him but toward him!
