God's Wrath: Whatever We Sow We Reap! - A Nation Abandoned by God!

Video from DTBM

WHEN GOD ALLOWS HUMANITY TO DESTROY THEMSELVES--THAT'S HOW IT ALL ENDS

"When God Removes His Restraint Humanity Destroys Itself Revelation 6:1-11 One of God’s attributes is His wrath. Last time we saw His future, ultimate, smoldering wrath as He returns to judge the world. That is His cataclysmic wrath as He pours out His fiery indignation. There is another element of God’s wrath and that is what operates all the time. It is called His consequential wrath. Cataclysmic & Consequential, both are forms of God’s wrath against sin, and sinners who do not repent. God’s consequential wrath was built into His creation of the universe. Please turn with me to Hebrews 11. Our Creator-God who is the All-Mighty Maker of the Heavens & the Earth, spoke so much into existence at Creation, that scientists have never stopped discovering, for thousands of years, more and more of what He did. Underlying all the vast parts of the Universe, are laws that seem to govern everything. Have you ever thought that human scientists only discover and name laws that are already there? Humans didn’t make the laws of physics or biology, they just discovered and try to use them. We know them as the: Immutable Laws of Nature We all know that there are laws in science. The well used laws of science lead to constant technological advances. The more we know, understand, and harness those laws the faster, smaller, and more powerful & efficient our technology becomes. But for just a moment, think about where those laws came from. Immediately we as believers know that they came from the Almighty God who spoke into existence this Universe, overflowing with the laws of thermodynamics and electromagnetism that frame everything. God invented, instituted, and maintains those very laws of science that every scientist lives by and works with. The laws of electromagnetism have led humans to understand the spectrum of light, sound, and all other known waveforms. So much so that we can study, measure, and eventually use the various lengths & speeds of these waves, which include the tiny realm of visible and hearable waves of sound and light. Waves of electromagnetism go in both directions on the spectrum so far studied, from the super large and slow waves (like radio waves) to super small and fast waves (gamma rays) . Someone Made Those Laws of Nature" from video introduction.

Repent and Believe!!

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Right now all of humanity is reaping the whirlwind.

All nations and all peoples are sinners, the worst of sinners.

We have turned away from our God!

We have embraced the evil from within ourselves and from without.

Yet our Lord is merciful and wishes for none to perish.

In 2 Peter 3:9 many people see this as an obvious statement that repentance is the condition by which we escape eternal condemnation.

The Tribulation is not something the Lord looks forward to but as long as enough people on earth repent, the Tribulation will continue to be postponed.

How can we participate in this? Repent!

Repentance postpones His coming, but by itself does not eliminate a persons eternal condemnation. Peter made clear that the only way to escape eternal condemnation is by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 10:43; 15:7-11; 1 Pet 1:21-24).

Today you and I must reflect on the condition our our souls. Are we nominal Christians? Are we today looking to men or a man to save us, to guide us and direct us?

The only man that can do that is Christ, everyone else is an idol.

What God seeks from all of us while His judgment tarries is repentance. God’s wish, then is that all should come to repentance.

In even more stark terms God’s desire is that all men should be saved from hell. This is plainly stated by God in 1 Tim 2:4-5, John 3:16-17 and 2 Cor 5:19-20.

So then the implication is if men would repent, the judgment of the Day of the Lord could be postponed?

This repentance would need to be a universal repentance in which all would have to come to repentance.

A much smaller microcosm can be seen in the case of Nineveh (Jonah 3)… all of them were spared from the impending ‘overthrow’ of their city, because the whole city repented.

Will all of America repent?

God then wishes for all to repent. Repentance prevents our premature death and worldwide repentance is the remedy against worldwide premature death from sin and evil.

The promise of the Rapture will not come about until the sins of the world rise to a level that triggers God’s worldwide judgment.

Are we nearing that level of sin now?

Death is not what God desires for us, therefore He postpones the Lord Jesus’ return as long as possible to allow more people to have abundant lives (more people to come to faith in Christ).

Will God allow a nuclear war?

He allowed America to bomb two cities in Japan a mere 77 years ago. Will we feel the same destruction that God allowed us to perpetrate on the people of Japan's, men, women and children?

The solution to our sins is not revolution or mean tweets or a different politician its a very personal confession and repentance and ling for Christ and nothing else! - Andy

"...Take the Word of God out of the place of its supremacy and you suppress the truth. Deny that it’s true, deny its veracity, deny its authenticity, deny its inerrancy, deny its inspiration, deny its sufficiency, deny its clarity - that’s the latest one, that nobody really knows what the Bible means anyway, “It’s a wonderful book, we believe God gave it to us, but we have no idea what it means.” That’s convenient. And you could divide my life up into attacks on the Bible coming from every imaginable angle.

The truth is always under assault. This nation has succumbed to that. There are even churches that have decentralized the truth because they think it offends, it’s divisive. It’s all we’ve got, folks. It’s all we have. God saves through the truth. You’re begotten again, Peter says, by the Word of truth. You’re sanctified by the truth. Jesus said, “Sanctify them by thy truth, thy Word is truth,” John 17:17. It’s all we have.

Of course it’s being assaulted by Satan. Of course the critics come along and say, “It’s not inspired, it’s not true, you can’t believe it.” Of course the mystics come along and say, “Oh, it’s fine, but we have more revelation over here and more over there and more over there,” and the cults all develop out of extrabiblical revelation. And then there are others who come along and say, “Well, the Bible’s fine, it’s just not sophisticated. You need to add philosophy and other kinds of things to the Bible to fill it out.”.. from the article/sermon John MacArthur: A Nation Abandoned by God

Here are the 5 types of wrath from the sermon above:

  1. Eternal Wrath – Eternal separation from God – the final judgment for those who reject Christ. This is going on now for those dead, and will go on into the infinite future.

  2. Eschatological Wrath – The outpouring of God’s judgment during the “last days.” (Revelation 6-19). This wrath is yet to come.

  3. Calamitous Wrath – Such interventions as the Noahic Flood, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, etc.

  4. Consequential Wrath – the natural results of bad choices. Whatever we sow, we reap. This reaping, though passive on God’s part, it still seen as God’s judgment, and wrath, on sin.

  5. The Wrath of Abandonment – this is what MacArthur says is being described in Romans 1, and how God judges individuals, groups, and nations. And he says America is already there.
