In this excellent video we see the very few instances in the Bible of animals being involved more directly in God's plans.
So we must consider if for instance "Balaam's Donkey" could see Angelic creatures can most if not all the animals around us do the same? Perhaps its part of the furniture to them and they seldom notice.
We need only look to fiction to see this concept applied and J.R.R. Tolkien provides some excellent examples. - Andy
