Let’s face it the world is a mess! It always has been but now perhaps more than ever before. And another fact is it’s that way mostly because of all of us.
We are very lamentable creatures. The things we do to each other is horrible and sinful. The things we think about are like wise sad and awful. Just look at our entertainment filled as it is with perversion and death.
God has used and is using the Pandemic to reveal and expose, to breakdown and reinvent.
Are we in the end times? Perhaps. In any case we must persevere in our faith, read scripture, pray, and have relationship with our creator.
Democrats, republicans, preppers, and Marxists will not save us. The Church in America is on the rocks. Most American Christians are lukewarm at best. The time to step up is now!
If you as a Christian don’t pick up and read your bible daily, then start doing so. Pray daily at least once. Be aware of your God. Live a Gospel centered life.
1 Corinthians 12:3 says, “No one can say ‘Jesus is Lord’ except in the Holy Spirit.”
We see in Matthew 8:29, how the demons cry out to Jesus, “What have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?” They could perceive and see that Jesus was who he said he was.
In Mark 1:24, a demon says to Jesus, “Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are — the Holy One of God.” These phrases “Son of God” and “Holy One of God” clearly attribute lordship to Jesus. Then it is even clearer when you see what the demons say Jesus can do to them: “torment us” and “destroy us.” Satan knows and admits that Jesus is stronger than he is and that the devil’s days of freedom are numbered.
Just as God predicted we find ourselves in an age were good is called evil and evil is called good. We humans are exceptionally good at sin and self-delusion. We think we can justify anything and often attempt to do so through God’s Holy Word.
Dickens said this in A Tale of Two Cities:
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way."
Not much has changed.
As Christians we must maintain our Christian witness to the world. We must be able to give an answer to anyone. We must be salt and light.
Where are you in this paradigm?
Has the upheaval and chaos in the world shaken you to the point where you realize what was our previous normal was wrong headed and secular. We can’t and should not go back, it is ruin!
Make changes in your life now.
In Romans 10:9 Paul says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” We see that Christians not only confess that Jesus is Lord, but also believe in their heart that God raised him from the dead.
1 Corinthians 12:3: “No one can say ‘Jesus is Lord’ except in the Holy Spirit.”
What Paul means is that without the inner work of the Holy Spirit, no one can say “Jesus is Lord” with joy and identify the Lord Jesus as one’s supreme treasure. Satan admits to this ultimate reality and Christ’s final victory, but he hates it. Only through the Holy Spirit can we love Christ. So that is the distinction that makes us Christians — not just believing the same true facts that the devil believes.
Secular Christians, functional Atheists pray for many for the same things you and I do. People pray for safety, food, clothing, good health etc. These things Satan approves of, even he asks God for things: Luke 22:31 31 “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat
Satan or his demons never prays, “Hallowed be your name.” or, “Lord, I pray your name to be honored, magnified, adored, or “Lord, turn your kingdom against the powers of darkness.” Satan never prays, “I am sorry for my sin. I hate it, and I confess it, and I ask for forgiveness in Jesus’s name.”
So the question is how shallow is your faith? Do you pray in a way that Satan would approve?
NOW is the time to be reflective, to commit yourself to knowing Christ in your heart and living a Gospel centered life.
