The Lies of Our Politicians & The Gullibility of Americans
Romans 1:32
32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but approve of those who practice them.
Our Gullibility
People choose to be gullible, they want to be naive. People choose lies over truth.
Do not deceive others and do not allow yourself to be deceived.
Americans have proved themselves to be easy sheep.
The public has corrupted public discourse, the lies of politicians, social media, and a wide range of groups including the News Media. The question is why do Americans sit silently (and support) the lives of innocents being destroyed through abortion? Why do Americans continue to believe “official sources” even though “official sources” lie repeatedly and never tell the truth? Why do Americans desire to believe conspiracies even when they are foolish and inane?
The short answer is the American people have failed in almost every way. Americans have failed Justice, the US Constitution. Americans have failed Truth and mercy as we have failed Democracy and representative government. Americans have failed ourselves and humanity in general. We have failed the mandate our Founding Fathers put forth and most glaringly we have failed God.
American exceptionalism and character are gone.
Across the board in every facet of American life, we see the depravity, the sin, the evil the selfish and prideful thinking and behavior. The American people have lost not only their own sense of truth but also any sense of mercy and justice for other people or people. We don't care if our neighbor dies or if an immigrant and their family die.
The Lies of Our Politicians
Our politicians (not all) but most have given into pride and sin just like the people of our nation. We have Democrats supporting abortion and socialist agendas while we have Republicans creating narratives based on deception and lies for a gullible voter base, supporting criminal actions at the highest levels, and talking of beheadings and executions.
The loss of character and values means the ultimate loss of liberty and the transformation of government into a criminal enterprise. We are losing our liberties as we speak and our answer is to form mobs of criminals to "Make America Great Again". We admire and worship politicians and authoritarians for their dishonesty and evil policies. We believe every lie they tell because we want to. Yes, America is moving away from freedom faster and faster at the hands of both the Right and the Left.
Pick your poison!
In the book of Ezekiel we can find a description of our culture:
The princes “devour people, take treasures and precious things and make many widows within her” Ezekiel 22:25. The priests “do violence to my law and profane my holy things” Ezekiel 22:26. The officials “are like wolves tearing their prey; they shed blood and kill people to make unjust gain” Ezekiel 22:27. The prophets “whitewash these deeds for them by false visions and lying divinations. They say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says’ — when the Lord has not spoken” Ezekiel 22:28. The people “practice extortion and commit robbery; they oppress the poor and needy and mistreat the foreigner, denying them justice” Ezekiel 22:29.
We are Sinful and Gullible but Christ is Merciful!
Because we are born sinners, we often take things for granted. One of the basic sins of the human race is ingratitude (Rom. 1:21). Over our lifetimes, we tend to become less grateful for the regular blessings we receive. Every day that God sustains our existence is a day we do not deserve, but because our blessings are so consistent, we begin to not look at it them as a blessing. We think (unconsciously) that we do not deserve destruction.
Want to help America? Pray, confess, repent, and repeat!
God will not abide by our sins forever. We must seek reconciliation with the Holy Lord while we can so we will not suffer an even worse eternal judgment.
