The Thatched Church at Barton Bendish in Norfolk (Sophistication and Simplicity)

"St Mary's, Barton Bendish in Norfolk is a delightful little thatched building, the sort of simple church building that was once commonplace in medieval England. Although small it is a building of great architectural sophistication, built in the early 14th century in the latest Decorated style of architecture and little altered externally since, except in the 15th century and in the 18th century when the tower was lost. Inside it is a building of great simplicity with whitewashed walls and furnishings from the 17th, 18th, and 19th century. I hope you enjoy the tour.
