WKNO is joining in the #GreatReadPBS fun. This summer we went out in search of Memphis book lovers and found Carol Gandy, who remembers the first grown-up book she read on her own.
As lifelong learners we all should read as much as we can about the many things in life, things that interest us and as much about our Lord and read the Bible.
I personally ascribe to what the fictional character Lemony Snicket said:
“Never trust anyone who has not brought a book with them.” – Lemony Snicket
“You don’t have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.” – Ray Bradbury
Reading, educating ourselves is one of God's many gifts he has given us. Today we live in an age of too much information yet we have an opportunity like no other generation to be knowledgeable and not ignorant.
