The Joy That Is Before Us!

Sign about Jesus
Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life

Life is hard, but joy is before us!

With the NEWS in our faces 24/7 we have become weary and exhausted.

Many of us cannot walk away from social media and the news etc. but we must.

Our salvation is not found in any of these things.

There is no such thing as a "prosperity gospel".

2 Timothy 3:12

Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,

We watch the killing of men, women and children on social media, TV etc. We are to a great extent numb to these images. Do we not watch murder and destruction as entertainment?

But this is real!

We obsess over what is wrong, we willfully attempt to fix the problems of this culture, this world apart from God. We indeed must do our part and that may mean giving our life for someone else.

John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

In the face of such horrors we think we are helpless but we are not.

Our prayers are powerful and they always have been. The human need to see results and the apparent lack of results implies inaction by God is widely accepted. But God's ways are not our ways. God sees the entirety of History beginning to end, all at once.

Our Lord is our Great High Priest and representative. Even now he talks about us before God the Father, all the while the Person of the Holy Spirit is at work in us and those around us. The spiritual realm is filled with ceaseless activity.

From His victory over death, Jesus offers abundant, overflowing life, not only in the distant future, but now. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy,” Jesus announced: “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

There is so much joy in our life with Christ as we live into eternity. each of us has a limited amount of time to live this life. We should not waste it on relying on mere men to save us. Once you reach the end of your rope you will find Christ and you will be filled with a joy that not only satisfies but guides us.
