The sentiment, the emotion is understandable.
Emotions are running high right now and the Presidents remarks, although I understand belies our problem in a nutshell.
Supposed suicide bombers at the airport in Kabul killed at least 12 of our military personal. He said we would hunt them down, his press secretary made the comment hunt them down to kill them. Yes it is true that we hunted down Osama Ben Laden but at what cost?
This never ending cycle of death is Satan's playground, as we are distracted from worshipping and serving Christ by becoming arbiters of death. We are the judge and jury. Did this happen in the Bible? Yes over and over but this was not the narrative of our Lord, this was sin playing out in the world.
For those self righteously pointing fingers and citing partisan politics remember the previous president called for the execution of people that he felt had betrayed him. We are all the worst sinners we know!!!!!!!!!!!
The United States is part of the world, the flesh and the devil.
We are not and never have been a Christian nation. Our founding fathers founded the nation to include Christian principles, values and ethics. Today it should be clear we have lost that social clout. As Ben Franklin once said : "This Constitution…can only end in despotism…when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic government, being incapable of any other."
We have become so morally corrupt that we need an authoritarian or a fascist to lead us by the nose because we are incapable of anything else.
Let us not overlook the reality, the Spiritual Reality, which we do all the time that demonic forces, creatures are at work amongst the people of this world (you and I included). Afghanistan among others has a long history of gods, demonic activity. They do interact with humanity (as allowed by God the Father and Christ).
Babylon became a symbol of demonic and human opposition to God. America is a pagan nation, ruled over by Satan who commands lesser demons, America is Babylon.

When you and I or our President calls for the death of others whether they be our own citizens or people elsewhere we make ourselves part of the Satanic system. Yes God establishes the nations and their leaders, good or bad but his Holy Spirit is at work amongst all of this. God loves the Taliban, Isis and does not wish any to perish yet is divine justice will also bring wrath upon evil.

Right now we impact the world by our persistent and daily prayers for our government officials, our military leaders, families of the fallen and our enemies! We confess our sins and we actually repent, not just giving lip service to our Lord.
