Can you make a deal with God? Angie Smith wagered a relationship with God in exchange for her dad's health and had to hold up her end of the bargain.

Angie felt alone and did not know what do do. It is in life's difficulty seasons that Jesus’s promises to be with you always (Matthew 28:20) never forsake you (Hebrews 13:5) may be more bothersome than comforting. Sometimes our perseverance in times like these doesn’t willful and pleasant conformity to the commands of God. Sometimes it looks and feels like we are Jacob, wrestling in the dark with a God we cannot see, holding fast to him, refusing to let go, no matter how hard it gets. So indeed hold tight to our Lord, he will bless you and his mercy is never ending.
