Brain rot is costing us democracy. Here's how to get it back. | Damita Pressl | TEDxTUWien
"Democracy is not dying through violent revolutions. It is dying from within, partly because we are disengaging. Faced with the state of the world, we feel overwhelmed, helpless, and checked out - and we succumb to short-form entertainment and brain rot. There are better ways to engage with media, manage your information diet and ultimately, remain an active citizen and help save democracy. Video produced by Apehouse (www.apehouse.at). Damita Pressl is an award-winning journalist, moderator and public speaking trainer. Born and raised in Vienna, she worked as a news anchor and TV host on Austrian national television before moving to Zurich to join the renowned Neue Zürcher Zeitung. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.' from the video introduction
