Cowboys, Bears and Family! Clint Howard’s Fantastic Journey as One of “The Boys.”

"Versatile character actor Clint Howard made his cowboy acting debut as Leon in a 1960 episode of THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW. With over 250 film and TV roles in his resume, Clint loves what he does, and he keeps delivering solid work in role after role. His most recent western is THE OLD WAY starring Nicolas Cage.

In between Andy and Nic, Clint’s western credits include THE MISSING starring Tommy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchett and directed by his brother, Ron, AN EYE FOR AN EYE with Robert Lansing and Patrick Wayne. He worked with director Robert Totten in two features, THE WILD COUNTRY, shot on location in Wyoming starring Steve Forrest Vera Miles, brother Ron, Dub Taylor, Morgan Woodward and Jack Elam, and had a lead role in THE RED PONY as the young boy who can’t communicate with his father (Henry Fonda) and develops an attachment to a red pony. Clint first worked for Totten in a GUNSMOKE episode, “Murdoch” with Jack Elam. Clint’s other TV westerns include, BONANZA, LANCER, THE MONROES, and three episodes of THE VIRGINIAN.

Clint’s book, “The Boys, A Memoir of Hollywood and Family,” written with his brother, is a fantastic story of their life in film and a loving tribute to their parents, especially father Rance. Clint shares his memories, including working with a bear in his series, GENTLE BEN, with Rob Word for A WORD ON WESTERNS in a conversation at The Autry recorded Dec 12, 2023." from video introduction
