'The God of Peace wants us to follow, The Prince of Peace, who gave to us, The Gospel of Peace, so that the fruit of The Spirit of Peace can bear fruit in our lives so that The Perfect Peace of God surrounds our lives each day. That is the preparation of the Gospel of Peace (Eph. 6:15) that we are to wear, firmly tied onto our feet as we walk through life. A Peace-Protected Walk Growing up one of the big events in the 1950s was the big trip to the city dump on Saturdays. Dad would load up the trailer with all the trash, tree branches, and junk we had to get rid of. Off we went through the gate to the town dump. There as dad pushed off the garbage where the dump director told him, we got to wander around and look for treasures. There were so many things to see at the dump; but the ground was littered with broken glass, twisted pieces of rusted metal, and all that garbage. Mom always said, “Be careful and make sure your shoes are on tight so you don’t cut your feet”. Life is like living at the dump. So much to do. So make sure your shoes are on tight. We are to ask God to keep us wearing our shoes of peace, so we can walk through each day’s troubles living out His promised peace. God is called the God of Peace five times in our Bibles.
