"In this mini documentary, I sit down with five elderly people and discuss their lives, any advice they have to share, and their regrets." from video introduction.
All of us want to finish well and grow old and wise to the glory of God. But life is hard and with our sin nature we make unwise decisions as do the people around us. In this mix is God's sovereignty and providence. To die well we must live well. We all will have regrets in life but we all have Christ and Christ covers everything in life. We have limited abilities and often no control over how gracefully our bodies and minds age. But if we do know our Savior’s care for us, and if we know that he will give grace for every need, then we can rest in the arms of the one who carries us even to our old age. The grace of God enables us to age gracefully. The gospel empowers us to face old age with a firm understanding of God’s unchanging care for our souls and also his care for our bodies.
Isaiah 46:3-4 3 “Listen to me, O house of Jacob,
all the remnant of the house of Israel,
who have been borne by me from before your birth,
carried from the womb;
4 even to your old age I am he,
and to gray hairs I will carry you.
I have made, and I will bear;
I will carry and will save.
