Hagar at the Fountain (Genesis 16:13,14) - Charles Spurgeon Sermon
"A sermon delivered by C. H. Spurgeon, Lord's day morning, November 8th 1885. Perhaps the loneliest person in the Old Testament is Hagar. We sometimes forget how difficult her task became. She felt unwelcome and unloved; yet the Lord Jesus, in the form of an angel, drew near to her. At once she felt His consoling mercy.
Here we see both the gentleness and the severity of God. He would multiply her descendants mightily; yet He required Hagar to return to her mistress, and submit to her.
