"Along the coast of Kochi, discarded fishing nets and marine plastic—once seen as waste—are being reimagined as art. An organisation Plan@earth is working with thousands of fisherfolk to recover discarded fishing nets and ocean plastic—materials that often harm marine life—and transform them into striking artworks inspired by Vincent van Gogh.

Through this initiative,many tonnes of plastic waste have already been removed from the sea, with fishing communities playing a central role in both collection and conservation efforts.
