Ancient Aliens Has Contributed to the Stigma of UFO's
For many years there has been a stigma, a giggle factor associated with the possibility of Aliens and UFO's when clearly there is overwhelming anecdotal evidence for both.
In reality there have been many examples of physical evidence of anomalous or paranormal materials associated with UFO's that have been brushed aside, and many are still avialable for examination.
There are many people who have made the subject into a laughing stock devoid of facts or serious scientific rigor.
Among the most prolific has been the Ancient Alien claims that have been bantered about for profits sake for decades by Eric Von Daniken and others. Like many things in this fringe subject area people are treated to innunedo and outright falsehoods with no factual representation.
People looking for alternative worldviews eagerly get sucked into the worm-hole of "I want this to be real so bad!!!
The fantasy continues and many people sadly still buy into it.
Twisted But Straight
The material, naturalistic worldview insists we accept extrapolations and educated viewpoints as fact. This is true of many things in the sciences like Physics etc. that we actually know very little about. Even Enstein knew better!
God's creation runs too deep for humanity to ever get close to understanding it.
Reality can be twisted and straight at the same time and we are gullable and easily swayed.
Ancient Aliens & Alien Saviors
Rejecting God always defaults to finding another god to worship and there are many unseen entities and humans that will gladly serve as our god.
In Diana Pasulka's excellent book American Cosmic: UFOs, Religion, Technology we are given a clearer perspective on what humanity seems prone to accept blindly. The deceptions of unseen entities have been part and parcel of our world since the Garden of Eden. We are not menat to understand it as illustrated by the information God permits us to have in scripture and in other sources.
The unseen supernatural realm overlaps into our reality constantly. We are just to distracted to notice it, except on occasions. UfO researcher Jacques Vallee had this to say about how these intelligent entities.

In the introduction to American Cosmic Pasulka also observes that experiencers of UFO related events "The experiencers interpreted these as spiritual or religious events. they either fractured their traditional religious belief systems, or, more commonly caused them to reinterpret their traditions through a Biblical- UFO framework in which they viewed biblical and historical religious events as UFO events." This is what we have been seeing for decades in America and around the world as people willfully disengage from a Christian worldview they fall into a pagan worldview. The pagan worldview started with humanities fall into sin and the subsequent rebellion of "The Son's of God" entities in Genesis 6.
Evil entities manipulate all of us in some way from cradle to the grave.
But that is not to say that Evil dominates. As Gandalf the Wizard so wisely said " “There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil.”
