How the "Stigma" of UFO's/Aliens is About More Than the Phenomenon

A stigma is a negative attitude/idea about a mental, physical, or social feature of a person or group of people that creates social disapproval.

Commonly we see stigmas around mental illness, disabilities and race to name a few.

For most of the modern age there has been a stigma associated with the idea of "flying Saucers" and "Aliens".

Society have viewed the possibility of creatures from another planet etc. as impossible and through the lens of popular culture the subject became a source of ridicule.

That ridicule continues to this day even though the subject has started going mainstream.

It is fact our culture has been dumbing down for decades to the point that many young people today lack fundmental skills (adding, subtracting etc.). As we become more tribal and narrow minded we begin to ridicule the things we resent or dislike or refuse to consider or believe.

As Christians we encounter this in relation to Angels, demons etc. as people in general refuse to consider that we live in a supernatural world. Materialists must see the goods and if they don't then it does not exist.

But our inability to take anything seriously, to laugh and joke (still a problem with local and national news) when we start talking about UFO's and aliens betrays our true thinking.

Are we mature and open minded enough to put aside our thinking about the handicapped for example? Will we let them excell beyond their limitations or will we ignore them.

Will we stoop to childish behavior in mocking and ridiculing those that have a different opinion on politics, UFO's or any subject we know nothing about.

Our opinions are often wrong and misinformed.

We like to react on the statements of others with no verification.

Are there Aliens and UFO's? Maybe and maybe not.

But the facts long standing show us that there is a phenomenon that is real at times and cause injury and death to people.

Will we stop mocking this subject long enough to get to the truth whatever it is?
