'I Died:' Women Share What Their Near-Death Experiences Were Like

"New York Times Best-Selling Author Betty J. Eadie and near-death experience survivor Jessie Sawyer detail their spiritual experiences after they both say they died while undergoing surgeries. Both women said they left their bodies and entered another realm and while their experiences differ, there are some similarities: they were both at extreme peace, remember seeing how the lives of their close family members would pan out without them and both said they reluctantly came back to their bodies." from video introduction.

There are three types of NDE:

1) Inverse NDE

Inverse NDEs describes how the common pleasant features of near death experiences are not at all pleasant. An example is the white light is typically a source of comfort and peace. In the inverse NDE, the white light becomes threatening and brings on panic, anxiety and depression.

2) The void NDE, the person experiences deep isolation and loneliness, in a black void for example.

3) Hellish NDE is what the video above describes, a very negative uncomfortable experience.

Read the following article from The Magis Center about NDE:

Hoaxes

Like many things of this nature there have been many hoaxes.

A recent example of a hoax NDE was back in 2015 when a boy claimed a NDE.

The problem: ‘The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven’ is a fraud. The father later admitted in an open letter shared on the web site Pulpit & Pen, stating that he never died and never went to Heaven:

"I SAID I WENT TO HEAVEN BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD GET ME ATTENTION. WHEN I MADE THE CLAIMS THAT I DID, I HAD NEVER READ THE BIBLE. PEOPLE HAVE PROFITED FROM LIES, AND CONTINUE TO. THEY SHOULD READ THE BIBLE, WHICH IS ENOUGH. THE BIBLE IS THE ONLY SOURCE OF TRUTH. ANYTHING WRITTEN BY MAN CANNOT BE INFALLIBLE. IT IS ONLY THROUGH REPENTANCE OF YOUR SINS AND A BELIEF IN JESUS AS THE SON OF GOD, WHO DIED FOR YOUR SINS (EVEN THOUGH HE COMMITTED NONE OF HIS OWN) SO THAT YOU CAN BE FORGIVEN MAY YOU LEARN OF HEAVEN OUTSIDE OF WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE…NOT BY READING A WORK OF MAN. I WANT THE WHOLE WORLD TO KNOW THAT THE BIBLE IS SUFFICIENT. THOSE WHO MARKET THESE MATERIALS MUST BE CALLED TO REPENT AND HOLD THE BIBLE AS ENOUGH."

The Bible is silent about near-death experiences. Scientific research has not been able to reliably study NDE. It is unwise to accept the legitimacy of near-death experiences on face value. It also would be unwise to say that all near-death experiences are faked, imagined, or Satanic. Any description of a near-death experience should be validated against the truth of Scripture. Should such an experience come from God, it will at some point line up with what He has revealed in His Word.

Many who have experienced NDE become faithful witnesses to Christ. Satan would not perpetrate a hoax to promote Christ or the Gospel.

Do Death Experiences line up with what the Bible says about death and the afterlife?

We will look at that in part 2.
