We all know we have a part to play not only in OUR story but the Kingdom of God. The late Dallas Willard often said at the beginning of his lessons: "You are an unceasing spiritual being with an eternal destiny in God's great universe."
But if we truly understand that we are surrendering our will to God and that through Christ and the Person of the Holy Spirit God acts and through His living word reality is moved, then we get what Jared Longshore is saying in the above video.
