"Good morning. This is Carter Conlon, and welcome to my morning.
Today I’m in the barn with Rudy. He’s dealing with a serious eye infection, and if it isn’t treated properly, the vet told us he could lose his sight—or even lose the eye entirely. So twice a day, we have to apply ointment and medication, even though he doesn’t understand why and resists it every time.
Standing here with Rudy reminded me of Jesus’ words: “The lamp of the body is the eye.” What we look at, what we focus on, and the direction we choose determines whether our lives are filled with light or darkness. Scripture warns us that if the light within us becomes darkness, how great that darkness truly is.
I’ve seen this in my lifetime—people who knew Scripture, studied it, even taught it, but chose not to obey it. When that happens, the Word that once brought light can turn dark inside a person. There is no greater darkness than knowing truth and choosing to live outside of it.
But there is good news. The Lord disciplines those He loves. Just like Rudy doesn’t understand that this uncomfortable treatment is saving his sight, we often resist God’s hand when He’s correcting us for our own good. His touch may be inconvenient or uncomfortable for a season, but it is always meant to bring healing and preserve our spiritual vision.
If God is dealing with you today—if He’s correcting, redirecting, or touching an area of your life—don’t resist Him. Don’t despise His hand. He is helping you see clearly again. His discipline is always an expression of His love.
As always, it’s still my morning, and I hope my morning makes your day. Stay with a clear vision. Live fully for God with all your heart. God bless you." from the video introduction
