Pergamos was one of the most prominent cites in Asia, located in the western part of Asia Minor. It was forty five miles north of Smyrna and twenty miles from the Mediterranean sea. It was built on a huge rock formation outcropping a natural fortress.
It was a wealthy city with many temples devoted to idols. As we shall see, it was a church of compromise. The glory of the ancient city has vanished. A small city village named Bergama is located behind the ruins of the old city. A nominal Christian testimony has continued to modern times. (link here to complete message outline)
