Dr. David E. Briones (PhD, Durham University) is associate professor of New Testament.
Dr. Briones joined the Westminster community from Reformation Bible College, where he served as professor of New Testament (2014–2019). Dr. Briones is also currently an adjunct professor at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary (2018–present). In addition to his work with Reformation Bible College and Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, Dr. Briones has held a number of additional teaching positions, including at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Sterling College, Biola University, Azusa Pacific University, and Durham University. He is the author of Paul’s Financial Policy: A Socio-Theological Approach (T&T Clark, 2013) and is in the process of writing a commentary on Philemon (Philemon, International Theological Commentary Series; T&T Clark) and co-authoring Reading Paul: A Reformed Primer. Dr. Briones’s academic interests lie in the areas of Pauline theology; biblical theology; union with Christ and one another; New Testament exegesis; biblical backgrounds; and comparative studies between the New Testament and extra-biblical literature (Jewish and Greco-Roman).
