The Constitution is Not the 67th Book of the Bible!

Our Constitution was a gift to all of us and to humanity.

Many have benefitted and been helped through the 232 year life of this nation. There are many people in the world who recognize the gift that we have and desire its benefits the least of which is worshipping our Lord in freedom. Yet Americans seem to be turning against this gift as we spiral into toxic individualism.

With the rise of reason and science worship along with moral relativism and expressive individualism we have banned God from our culture. The result is decline, sin and death.

America has never been a Christians nation but has been blessed with Christian influences. God has prospered us and allowed us to bless and benefit the world.

Dr. Peter Lillback said in his book George Washington’s Sacred Fire, “Washington asserted that human depravity could ultimately destroy the Constitution, even with the checks and balances it possessed. In his proposed Address to Congress in April 1789, he described how the Constitution, with all of its wisdom, could ultimately come to naught by the depravity of the people and those who govern them, since the Constitution in the hands of a corrupt people was a mere ‘wall of words’ or a ‘mound of parchment’”

Today we have a portion of our population that has decided that the Constitution denies them their freedom to pursue sin and call it good. With the surge in our rebellion and sin many are promoting Marxism, Authoritarianism/Fascism (Trump) and even the ludicrous defunding of police to name just a few of our psychotic behaviors.

We find our selves caught between a pendulum swing of the evil left (Democrats/Biden) and the evil right (Republicans/Trump).

As America has always been a part of the World, the Flesh and the Devil it is no surprise that we have chosen depravity over Christ. Christians have flocked to The Constitution in hopes it will save them but it will not.

The Constitution has been called the greatest document for governing a free people ever written in the history of the world. Our founding fathers have, been described as “enlightened geniuses touched by divine intervention." The Constitution is not a Christian document yet it is a document no doubt written by Christians. Many concepts found in the Constitution of the United States can also be found in the Word of God.

Frenchmen Alexis Tocqueville toured the United States. And later wrote these prophetic words concerning what he had learned in America.

“I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her fertile fields and boundless forest, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her rich mines and her vast world commerce, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her public school system and her institutions of learning, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her democratic congress and her matchless constitution, and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because America is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.”

America it seems has ceased to be good and we are seeing the results.

Will we do what we must do to turn the tide of God's judgement? Will we stop worshipping men and return to worshipping God? Will we love our neighbor as ourselves?

All is not lost if we return to Christ!

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and heal their nation.” II Chronicles 7:14
