The Depravity of Man and Why Mankind Will Never Improve

The Depravity of Man and Why Mankind Will Never Improve

The ongoing war in and around Israel is an old evil perpetrated by evil men and evil satanic forces.

In our world today the tribe that has chosen to be anti- Israel like the Amalekites of old calls itself "Hamas" which is the word for violence in Hebrew. Like ISIS this group of people have chosen to oppose not only Israel but God! They have demonstrated they are a cult of death.

The state of Israel hasn’t always acted blamelessly in regards to the Palestinian people. They too like all nations/people will answer to God for their evil.

Hamas deliberately planned military operations with the purpose of murdering civilians.

There is no justification Biblical or otherwise for this evil butchery!

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine must be condemned as should the Hamas’s attack on Israel.

As God's Represenative in the world we must condemn and work against this evil!

There Is No Good Without God

Try to define “good” without God.

When we reject God and his unchanging moral law, we loose any fixed reference point by which to measure what is “good” or “evil”.

The Nazis said what they did to the jews and the rest of the world was "good"! In a world of relative morality any of us can state what we believe is good, we reject what God has set down as right and wrong.

Today our world is once again devolving into evil with everyone doing evil.

Hamas and those cheering them on and supporting them like Iran are doing evil.

Psalm 11:5 "The LORD tests the righteous,

but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence."

Just as God destroyed the Amelakites He will take to account Hamas.

Revelation 2:27 "that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’ —just as I have received authority from my Father."

In this excellent article from todays Gospel Coalition Peter Leithart from The Theopolis Institute reminds us that the depravity and evil committed by Hamas in recent days is no different than the evil peoples of the past.

Hamas Is Borrowing Tactics from the Amalekites

"Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel was like something from the dark ages of antiquity. Marauders invaded Israel not to claim territory or even treasure but to slaughter innocents and take hostages. They killed young women, snatched elderly people from the streets, murdered and burned families with their children.

Hamas’s tactics resemble nothing so much as those of the biblical Amalekites.

Yahweh’s Curse

Coming up from Egypt, Israel gets its first taste of war in a battle with the Amalekites (Ex. 17:8–16). While Moses sits on the hill with hands held up by Aaron and Hur, Joshua defeats the enemy in the valley below. When it’s all over, Yahweh takes an oath: “Yahweh has sworn; Yahweh will have war against Amalek from generation to generation” (v. 16). He vows to fight until the memory of Amalek is blotted out from under heaven (v. 14).

Yahweh vows to fight until the memory of Amalek is blotted out from under heaven.

Yahweh makes good on his promise. He commands King Saul to carry out the ban of utter destruction against Amalek (1 Sam. 15:1–3). Saul wins the battle but spares the Amalekite king Agag and much of the plunder. Samuel hews Agag to pieces at Gilgal, but the Amalekites survive. Near the end of David’s exile in Philistia, Amalekites attack his camp at Ziklag and carry off women, children, and plunder. David’s last act before being anointed king of Judah is to chase down Amalekite raiders and recover his wives, children, and goods (30:1–20)..." from the article: Hamas Is Borrowing Tactics from the Amalekites
