The Flood, Conquest & Giants - Why God Kills - Heiser & Mackie
"Why would God flood the Earth?
Modern Christianity has been desensitized to the supernatural ancient narrative of Noah and the flood.
Animals and arcs line children’s bedrooms disguising the darker story of God’s justice Flooding the Earth and washing away all of the violence.
Violence that was Brought upon mankind through the rebellion of Sons of God
What was God’s motive for flooding the Earth?
Was he upset with humanity?
Or was he trying to preserve the seed of the woman?
Together in this episode we are going to see the connections between the flood narrative and the later conquest narratives of Israel
There is a giant hyperlink that connects all of these stories where God floods the Earth with his justice.
We will see that the Nephilim were on the Earth in those days and also afterwards
Their story is intimately connected to the gospel and the victory that we have in Jesus.
The Bible uses the Nephilim and the hyperlink of these giant warriors to connect Noah, Joshua, and Jesus.
Just like the flood narrative, this same narrative of supernatural beings sleeping with women and creating a master race of powerful giant humans Is prevalent within most ancient near eastern cultures.
Enoch is connected to Genesis six just like Genesis six is connected to the Mesopotamian tales of the APKALLU
If we’re going to understand why God would flood the entire earth we have to pause and understand the important context of Genesis six
Let’s do that together." from the video introduction
