"Walter Crane was undoubtedly one of the most significant figures in the evolution of children's illustration, and is among the few who could be said to have endured in our collective memory. Even so I'm sure there will be viewers who are not aware of his work and it's importance.

Many of Crane's books were published and re-formatted several times, so I advise you not to take the dates provided as necessarily being accurate, although I have done my level best in that regard.

But I have apparently had a senior moment when narrating this as at around 5.20 I refer to 1979 when of course I meant to say 1879. Oops..." from the video introduction
