The Power of Our Prayer (Our Words) in the Spiritual World
Updated: Nov 17, 2021

When the Angel came to Daniel 10: 12 he said this: “Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.”
Words were spoken by Daniel on earth in prayer, hiss heart was right with God, he was humble. His words in prayer were heard immediately by God and God responded.
The point is our words have power in prayer. Prayer is access to the throne room of God. This is huge and cannot be underestimated.
The realm of Heaven and Earth intersect. The invisible Realm is active with entities of different descriptions going about their business for example an Angel is a messenger, as the Angel in this scripture.
Yet the qualifier here is that our souls must be right with God for our words to be heard. Sin in our lives hinders and even impedes our prayers.
“If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened” (Psalm 66:18).
“If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination” (Proverbs 28:9).
“Your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear” (Isaiah 59:2).
1 John 1:9 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Why is it then that often our prayers seem to go unanswered? Are some Christians better at prayer than others?
Some Christians seem to possess a specific efficacy in their prayers because they are in fact peculiarly godly. Notice that James also exhorts Christians to confess their sins before he speaks of the type of Christian who offers powerful prayers. Confessing our sins even in a general way if we don’t know our sins or forget them is vital to our daily obedience to God.
You can become a prayer warrior as you grow spiritually through daily scripture reading, study and daily prayer.
This experience of Daniel is an example to us of the reality of the Heaven and Earth intersecting.
This is not about a formula that says if you pray and fast for 21 days the Angel Michael will come help you overcome cosmic forces. But it is an example of what is taking place outside of our sight in the invisible realm. God does not want us to know any more about the invisible realm than what he has revealed in scripture if he did Scripture would have revealed more. He obviously wants us to know that there is more going on than what we see so that we will pray to him until he gives us an answer.
If you are right with God, confess your sins daily and pray do not think your words are not heard in Heaven by him. They are heard and he responds. God’s response may take time as the circumstances and souls of other people are in constant flux, very fluid, yet God knows the beginning from the end and everything in between. Time may pass and you forget all about your prayer, but God does not forget.
“he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). He has overcome the world (John 16:33) and he will give you justice (Luke 18:8).
Pray daily and often
