Jesus, The Way, The Truth, The Life!

Jesus, The Way, The Truth, The Life!
Jesus, The Way, The Truth, The Life!

Jesus, The Way, The Truth, The Life!

Right now, if you go on Twitter or Facebook or the National News (Fox, Newsmax, CNN etc.) you will find the prevailing secular truth of our day. The truth (or lack of) of our culture is destructive and unfortunately many Christians have bought into it. That is why so many people view Christians (evangelicals etc.) as just one more special interest group out to whine and complain their way into getting what they want. In fact (in my opinion for what it’s worth I can’t tell the difference between secular and Christian most of the time, why? they act and sound alike!

Secular truth is relativistic, and there is no consensus on truth as your truth might differ. Secular truth regarding subjects for example like abortion, politics, immigration is based on what some politician/academic (or pastor or prophet) tells the public until it changes again. Secular truth is destructive, it deconstructs because it cannot build up.

Antifa (short for anti-fascist) believes that all of society is: “Fascism, nationalism, far-right ideologies, white supremacy, authoritarianism, racism, homophobia and xenophobia. Some antifa activists also denounce capitalism and the government overall”. “Antifa has no official national leadership, though followers have organized themselves into small, local cells that sometimes coordinate with other movements, such as Black Lives Matter. Some self-described antifa adherents have organized to confront Patriot Prayer, the Proud Boys, and other far-right groups during public demonstrations. Some of those rallies have devolved into violence.” From the article: What is Antifa? Is it a group or an idea, and what do supporters want?

Just as the founding fathers of the United States were not all Christians so too many of the people in our government are not either yet the HUGE difference between now and then is: “There is little doubt that the principles upon which the United States was founded are indeed found in the Bible. Equality, liberty, and justice are all biblical principles. The faith of the founders, on the other hand, will continue to be debated. Did the founders respect God and the Christian religion? Absolutely. Were they influenced by the Bible? Surely. Were they all born-again believers in Jesus Christ? No.” from the article: Were the Founding Fathers of the United States Christians?

The principles of the US were founded on Christian principles. Today the secular, godless, utopian and humanist agendas of Antifa/White Supremacists, and our culture in general are NOT!

So, looking again at the so-called truth of our secular culture we have no consensus on what truth is. Therefore, we can argue endlessly about it. That is chaos!

God’s truth is objective, transcendent, for-everyone and not a truth that holds you captive or a check-your-brain-at-the-door truth. It’s a truth that liberates your mind, expands and galvanizes people in a purposeful way with a common vocabulary that allows for intellectual engagement. Jesus says, it’s the truth that “will set you free” (John 8:32).

God’s Word is settled and eternal and it is “The Truth” as contrasted with our human truth which is as fickle and evil as we are. Be honest we make it up as we go!

There is nothing profound or earth shaking about the relativistic truth we hear daily from politicians and others. The truth we are seeing today through the Antifa’s (for example) and the Proud Boy’s (for example) and the politicians are all modern attempts at the “Sin” that helped bring about the Fall of humanity in the garden. In essence we still want to be God!

America is of this world and therefore a “Power and Principality” ruled over by the god of this world – Satan.

So, we as Christians should be the most intellectual of all because we have access to the only infallible truth. That means we always fall back on God’s Holy Word, but we also are confident enough to discuss other points of view. We must be fertile fields of discussion unafraid of the talking about the diverse topics and concerns of our age.

Our world deconstructs, it does not build up. So how can you be part of this? First of all, we are not intellectual snobs nor are we theological geniuses. We are all life-long learners, and we must remain sober-minded in our faith and in our interactions with an unbelieving world. To do this you must be in relationship with Christ, pray daily, confess sins daily, repent of that thinking and behavior and be open to the Person of the Holy Spirit. There are no shortcuts. You cannot be a Luke-warm weekend Christian and live out the Christian life with any success or impact. There will be no fruit!

Proverbs 9:10 10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.

Read as much as you can and develop your critical thinking skills. Become a Freethinker!

A Free-Thinker is not held back by the politics of the moment, the moral relativism of the day, but free (through Christ) to look at any subject, book, movie etc. with an objective eye for what is true and false. Be aware that everything you and I do is a mixture of right and wrong. None of us are righteous, no not one.

Romans 3:9-20

9 What then? Are we Jews[a] any better off? [b] No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin,

10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one.

11 no one understands; no one seeks for God.

12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”

13 “Their throat is an open grave they use their tongues to deceive.”

“The venom of asps is under their lips.”

14 “Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”

15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood.

16 in their paths are ruin and misery,

17 and the way of peace they have not known.”

18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

19 Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.

20 For by works of the law no human being[c] will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

So, I challenge you to be thoughtful about what you say on any media, social or otherwise. Perhaps you should remain silent. Read and pray, research instead of reacting to what someone says and glorify Christ in all you do.
