What Are They Waiting For? - Dr. Greg Ganssle

Do you dislike waiting? Most of us do.

We live in a culture of instant gratification and most of us have very little free time, we are generally overwhelmed by work and family. Waiting or patience is not something we cultivate.

“Waiting” is often the most precious answer God can give us in our lives. It forces us to cling to him rather than cling to a hoped-for outcome. God knows what I need, he knows what you need. I do not really have a clue and neither do you. He sees the future and we cannot. His perspective is eternal, comprehensive, and unfailing. Ours is not. He will give each of us what is best for us when it is best for us.

This excellent lecture by Dr. Greg Ganssle covers many aspects of why we wait.

Dr. Greg Ganssle is a Professor of Philosophy at Talbot. Prior to coming to Talbot, he served as co-founder and co-director of the Rivendell Institute at Yale University. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from Syracuse University.
