When You’ve Lost Your Desire to Read the Bible

When You’ve Lost Your Desire to Read the Bible

"Have you lost momentum in reading the Bible?

Maybe you started a reading plan with excitement and then fell behind.

Maybe life got busy.

Maybe Scripture feels intimidating, emotionally complicated, or harder to engage with than you expected.

You are not alone.

00:00 - 00:45 - Your Daily Prayer

00:46 - 01:12 - Bible Memory Verse

01:13 - 05:33 - Devotional

Psalm 1 gives us a beautiful picture of the person who stays rooted in God’s Word:

“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.” — Psalm 1:3

Today’s prayer asks God to restore our desire for Scripture, help us build realistic habits, and give us the perseverance to stay faithful even when reading the Bible does not feel exciting.

Faith is not sustained by hype.

It is anchored in truth.

And sometimes the next faithful step is simple:

Read one Psalm.

Read one paragraph.

Read one verse aloud.

Read with someone.

Start small—but stay tethered.
