You and I Have a Lot to Learn

You and I Have a Lot to Learn

3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Galatians 6:3

I am now almost four years into retirement from the work a day world.

I retired due to job stress that came mostly from the cumulative side effects of 4 primary cancers.

I have been in solitude ever since. Solitude helps me draw closer to Jesus.

My wife and I spend a great deal of time discipling and helping our grandchildren.

I spend a fair amount of time on this website, writing and keeping it functioning the best I can. As an artist I also spend time doing art and reading.

God has also handed me the assignment of teaching art in a local Christian school one day a week.

God's gift of solitude has allowed me to pray more, repent more and comtemplate and reflect more.

In this season of life I understand that I will soon be with Christ!

My life and your life is a vapor.

Living a life, a sinful life is what we all do.

Our sin nature, encouraged as it is by a sinful evil world keeps rising and falling, never ever really going away.

In this life we will be sinners to the end.

I Know Nothing!

Even now I know that I really know very little about life, my life especially and the complex creation around me.

I have several degrees, I am what can be called educated, yet I really know nothing compared to the endless knowledge of our culture and our world.

I have over time become good at many different things, all which are gifts and not due to MY intelligence or effort. I often assume my knowledge of and about many things in this life is greater than it really is.

No matter how good we get at anything we are only scratching the surface.

Refined by Humility

"Now concerning food offered to idols: we know that “all of us possess knowledge.” This “knowledge” puffs up, but love builds up. 2 If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know. 1 Corinthians 8:1-2

God will bring you to your knees one way or another if your remain in your arrogance and pride. God loves you and does not want you or anyone else to face eternity without Him and His presence. You do not know your life better than God does.

In my life I believe God refined me and continues to refine me through disease and other limitations. Soon my body will break down completely and I will die and be in His presence!

You too will die, are you ready?

Seek God to Find God

For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:8

You can find God today if you seek Him.

Cry out to God for His mercy and foregiveness!

Begin by confessing your sinful nature and start changing your thinking and behavior today!

The time God has foreordained for you to live this life is short!

God is our refuge and strength,

a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
