Your Art Matters (Even if No One Buys It)

People buying our art is not validation.

As an artist I have over the years, especialy when I was younger and considering a career as an artist, succumbed to this mindset.

But God had other plans for me and took me many different directions.

I got a degree in art education and taught in public school for a couple of years. The experience was discouraging.

After many different careers and experiences now at the age of 68, I am retired and teaching art at a local Christian school one day a week, I am in my 4th year.

I draw and paint some every day. As a gift from God to me and the world, I must make art even if no one else sees it. I gift my work to family members, and I hang it all over our walls.

So don't stop making art, love it for the gift it is, enjoy it, and praise God for it!!
