History is filled with lies, liers and people who choose to believe.
Hitler for example perpetrated a Big Lie to an eager and accepting population. Hitler lied about the Jews and in doing so brought about their near-extermination. Stalin as well lied about his enemies and in doing so he perpetrated a series of lies that led to the deaths of millions of innocent people. Mao programs resulted in millions of his citizens dying of starvation. And so it goes and on, century after century, millennium after millennium; the big lie is ubiquitous in all humanity.
“A lie can travel around the world before truth has put its boots on.”
We live in a time when lies spread faster than our acquisition of knowledge. But the reason many people tell lies and it is very apparent in politics of today, is that some people use lies to enrich themselves. Trump and others have become experts at this extraction of money from the gullible and foolish in our culture. In fact many self-proclaimed prophets and pastors are prime culprits as well.
America stands at a similar crossroads today. Trump’s Big Lie must be resisted, humiliated, and defeated if the forces of true democracy are to survive. History has shown us repeatedly that the Big Lie is never far away and is a huge temptation for many who succumb to its claims. Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. Every recount and every court case has made that fact absolute. The Big Lie is a big and dangerous lie that threatens all of us with anarchy and destruction. The January 6 attack on our capitol is proof of that danger.
The Big Lie is one that’s easily debunked with a minimal amount of research and hopefully it will die the death of all such lies in history.

Trumps’ mindset is obviously delusional and no psychology degree is required to see that.
The republican leadership who are perpetuating the Big Lie is not delusional, they are deliberately amoral and un-American.
Currently Christianity seems to be playing an outsized role in promoting the Big Lie; preaching the conspiracy that the coronavirus is a hoax; and is also spreading anti-vaccination propaganda.
“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
Paul warned all of us of this possibility.
The irony is that The Church of Christ is now one of the leading sources of untruth and conspiracies. We must make sure that we are in repentance and are working toward becoming the most Godly people we cane become!
