Honoring Everyday Hero's - Day in the Life

Dr. Priya Jayan is an attending hospitalist physician in the San Francisco bay area. This is a day in her life. Learn more about #SaveOurDoctors: https://medschoolinsiders.com/save-ou...

Dr. Jayan is a Doctor of Internal Medicine (The medical specialty dedicated to the diagnosis and medical treatment of adults. A physician who specializes in internal medicine is referred to as an internist.) She is employed as a Hospitalist (a dedicated in-patient physician who works exclusively in a hospital.)

I worked for the past 10 years as an LPN in healthcare, having worked in a hospital, home heath and family medicine. I have over the years worked with some excellent physicians and honorable people. I always understood that what these people did, what we all did was by the grace of God who was the true Healer. We were his Hands and a Fingers.

Those who chose to become physicians give up much in life for the welfare of others. Honor them and give them a break the next time you think Dr. Google knows better.

Our health is important to the Lord and it is essential for a healthy walk with Christ. We must do what we can to help our God given bodies work as well as possible. Although we are indeed wasting away day by day we still bear a responsibility to care for our bodies, The temple of Christ and The Person of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

Luke 21:34 “Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap.” 1 Timothy 4:8 “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”

God has also in this time in history blessed us with medical resources and we should take advantage of them, they are a gift.

1 Timothy 5:23 (No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.)

Luke 10:34 “He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.”

Matthew 9:12 “On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”

Colossians 4:14 “Luke, the beloved physician, sends you his greetings, and also Demas.”

Genesis 50:2 “And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father. So the physicians embalmed Israel.”

Thank You Physicians, CNP's and PA's for your hard work and dedication!
