Ah.. Here Comes the Rub!
Cultural whims and Secular thinking by Christians is nothing new. We often try to please man before we please our Lord. American politics is particularly prone to this right now as the us versus them mentality is a guiding principle.
Under the mantra of freedom and choice the Republican party has forgotten that this works both ways and as politicians, in this case Trump give in to the special interests, because they must ALLOW for freedom the whole concept to seek the favor of "The Electorate" virtue, morality and yes freedom will suffer.
The secular culture wants to please man and special interests. Our politicians today wave the Christian flag yet perform in a worldly and sinful way.
To actually think and live out the Gospel of Christ is totally against what the culture and society of the United States wants.
Since politicians will not actually live out their Christian life in their public life they will always succumb to their sin natures and the sins of the public.
When you realize that your favorite politician cannot save you to whom will you go?
