Never Assume You Would Know What Jesus Would Do

Updated: Dec 23, 2022

Question? Do you believe that giving up some of your personal liberties for the welfare or health of another person (s) makes you less free?

If you do then you have overlooked or ignored a basic tenet of our Christian faith and Christs sacrifice on the cross.

Philippians 2:7

7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant,[a] being born in the likeness of men.8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

We trivialize our faith and sacrifice for our personal preference, we reveal our selfishness.

There is no basis for politicizing Christ and imposing our own current grievances on him. When Christ walked the earth he touched and healed Lepers among other diseases and healed people with many other medical problems. Christ was to busy being concerned about people both spiritually and physically that he did not stop to argue over hygiene.

We cant and should not use God's Holy Word to seek to divide society into the right and the wrong. To claim we know what Jesus would do or think is heresy to say the least. Our pride of saying we know or have it figured out is sin.

Humility requires us to examine our position and read scripture and pray. Our wisdom has not yet been exalted. American Christianity has a poor track record and seems to be going in for another nose dive in the current cultural moment.

Perhaps we all need to tweak our position in light of what our Lord actually stands for!
