Quantum, Physics and God

Science serves God. It always has. Just as all things were created by him and for him (Colossians 1:6) the revealing of the many different aspects of creation that we ultimately recognize and enjoy are done through our body and Soul and ultimately our minds which are breathed into us by God.

Man is not the measure of himself, he never has been and our attempts to prove our independence and superiority are pitiful and inadequate. Yet in our sin and natural self we cling to that delusion.

Fallen man, the natural man, a human being that has denied God will attempt to disallow him or disprove Him. We have seen this in ourselves and we see it daily in the people around us. The world is filled with rebellion/sin/evil!

Today Apostles of Atheism assert that their God given mind is random and accidental as is all of creation. Some Atheists that were once Christians have effectively used Christian concepts and principles to promote Atheism (Sam Harris- It is Always Now-YouTube).The god of this world, the Sa-Tan who rebelled in Heaven long before Mankind was created began this delusion and carried it over to Eden and on to all of us and sustains it today.

God’s providence is plane for all to see who will see it!

Genesis 8:22 “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”

Matthew 10:29 “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.”

Colossians 1:6 “Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth”

In physics, a quantum (plural quanta) is the minimum amount of any physical entity (physical property) involved in an interaction. As you see this is an overly broad definition.

Now I need to say up front that in our use of language the word quantum is overused, indistinct and applied to often obscure and unrelated areas of life. It’s a label placed on what we don’t understand; hence things like quantum homeopathy, quantum paleo, quantum power ball, you get the picture.

Chaos Theory, Complexity Theory, and Quantum Mechanics, Entanglement etc., to name a few; all these discoveries are Shadows of Gods providence over all creation. Superposition and Entanglement are ways we attempt to describe how God has created, organized, and maintains the Universe. There is the classical world; there is also a quantum mechanical world. This is the world of atoms, molecules, and the exceedingly small particles. These distinctions are strictly human and limited, extremely limited. In fact we can say, indeed even science can say there is much more to Creation and that what we see as Quantum is but fraction of what is there. The reality may be that there are even smaller particles and components in the ultimate reality to which we are extremely limited in our perceptions.

Philip Ball in his recent book Beyond Weird: Why everything you thought you knew about quantum physics is different, says this: “If we’re serious about [understanding quantum mechanics], we’re going to need some philosophy”. We need to “force science to take seriously some questions that philosophers have debated with great depth and subtlety for millennia: What is real? What is knowledge? What is existence?”

Given this window into reality, we can see why more philosophically–minded souls, religious and otherwise, might seize on quantum mechanics to open some deep conversations about the nature of reality. One of the leading physicists who has written on quantum theory states: “In accepting quantum mechanics,” the American Leonard Susskind said, “we are buying into a view of reality that is radically different from the classical view.”

Our human consciousness is beyond our cognitive ability to understand. It is fundamental to creation as we are co regents with God, created in his image. Once god breaths the spark of life into each of us we remain alive eternally. Much of creation was built around us and for us.

You cannot find or understand God through reason or empirical evidence. He is not available or obligated to prove himself to us in that way.

There is no doubt that outside of our faculties of perception lays an entire realm of creation. Angels, Demons, and their activities go unseen by us every day.

The pre-incarnate Christ (before He came in the flesh) revealed himself (a Christophany) to Adam and Eve and was rejected. He revealed himself to humanity as the incarnate Christ and was rejected and crucified. We continue to reject him even today.

God’s meticulous providential maintenance of all of us and creation is ongoing. God upholds creation. Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.

God has permitted us glimpses of his creativity and power. However our abilities of perception are small and finite as are we. Empirical and rational thought do not make up for our lack of advanced cognitive understanding.

“The nature of the world is such that our intervention matters,” Phillip Ball says. “We affect what transpires.” Our role as God’s co-regents albeit fallen ones makes us participatory. David Bohm turned the entire universe “into something resembling a conscious organism”: “Thought exists in the cosmos as a holistic entity akin to the quantum potential, which it would, he said, be wrong and misleading to break… up into my thought, your thought.”

What we know about quantum entanglement shows that an action performed on the first particle instantaneously affects its partner particle, regardless of the distance between them in space or, as Einstein called it spacetime. Entanglement is strange and weird, and even though scientists have come to accept and even exploit it, they do not pretend to understand it. Einstein himself refused to believe it, calling it “spooky action at a distance.”

There is an interconnectedness throughout the universe that defies explanation. That interconnectedness seems to be across the board at every level of creation. If we consider the unseen realm that includes Angelic beings and whatever else and the fact, they crisscross the cosmos, and go in and out of dimensional space we should be humbled and in awe.

The scientific method has been a successful way of discovering how God has accomplished certain parts of His creative work. Discovery of the physical mechanisms of the universe doesn’t change the fact that there is a Designer and Creator who put them into place. Quantum in general, like any other scientific disciplines, is perfectly compatible with the Bible’s teaching of God, how he made and sustains his creation.

Jeremiah 10:12 It is He who made the earth by His power, who established the world by His wisdom; And by His understanding He has stretched out the heavens.
