Why Reading Difficult Books is Good for Our Minds

We live in a time of mental laziness.

Ever faster videos and other media have shaped our mental capacities in a way that requires us to think less. Our critical thinking skills have suffered as a result.

So we should occasionally challenge ourselves by reading from a book that is difficult to read. Many excellent books require focus and concentration.
