Why Time Awareness is Essential For Living in the Kingdom of God Now!
Life for most of us begins with difficulty. Even in the best of homes sin comes out of us and others that surround us.
Our parents (if we have any in attendance) are attempting to live their lives in the unknown territory of child-rearing. The fortunate few that have grown up in God Honoring homes may have a clearer path yet they too cannot eliminate the sinful nature in themselves and others.
God the Father remains sovereign and in His providence (that we struggle to understand) works with the Person of the Holy Spirit and His Son Christ Jesus to be involved in our lives.
Situational Awareness
In the military and in security work the term situational awareness is often discussed. Situational Awareness means being more aware of your surroundings and what is happening or could happen. As Christians, we need situational awareness in all the seasons of our life. The sooner we understand that there are definitive "seasons" of our lives the sooner we can be aware of God's plans and intentions.
Many Christians think that they live under timeless principles, and absolute convictions, which assume we are governed by eternal ideas untainted or untouched by history. People chase what they believe to be a fundamental set of rules.
This is false and not supported by reality.
Accepting Your Death & Living in the Now
The sooner you look out to the end of your life and accept your death the better. It is coming.
God's Holy Word has said we as Christians are living in eternity now. We know what is coming and we know we will one day be with Christ in the New Earth and New Heaven. Eternity is part of our heart and Human Spirit.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
In case you haven't noticed we are unable to see the ultimate reality that we live in.
1 Corinthians 13:12
12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
What we have and enjoy right now (be it a lot or a little) is meant for our enjoyment. If we are ungrateful of spirit and our hearts are hardened we will be miserable and make everyone around us the same. Drifting through life with no direction or understanding of life's seasons will make us bitter and unhappy.
We must stand back and look at what season we are in and make the best of it. Live life, praise God!
Guided by the Spirit and The Word
If we are living our Christian life in repentance and humility we then are in constant relationship with The Person of the Holy Spirit and Christ.
Trying harder under our own strength is folly.
Our prayers can include a discussion of our season and the hardships we are encountering. Let us not forget to praise God for his mercy!
