People die because of something said with words. Tongues become weapons of mass destruction starting and launching holocausts, wars, and murders. Tongues are also the death of marriages, families, friendships, churches, careers, hopes, understanding, reputations, missionary efforts, and governments.
But people receive life because of something said with words. The tongue can and is “a tree of life” (Proverbs 15:4). Tongues reconcile peoples, make peace. “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9). Tongues make marriages sweet and happy, families stronger, and churches healthy. Tongues give hope to the despairing, advance understanding, and spread the Gospel.
So what will come out of your mouth today, death or life? (Proverbs 12:18)?
