Hear, O Israel — Shema Israel | Deep Sephardic Chant

Hear, O Israel — Shema Israel | Deep Sephardic Chant

"The most sacred declaration in Judaism, brought to life through the ancient sound of Sephardic-Andalusian sacred music. Oud, lute, Celtic harp, flamenco guitar, and reverent male choir carry the eternal proclamation: The LORD our God, the LORD is One.

"Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God, the LORD is One. And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength." — Deuteronomy 6:4–5

THE DECLARATION:

The Shema is not a prayer — it is a proclamation. Jews recite it twice daily, covering their eyes with their right hand to shut out the world and focus entirely on the oneness of God. It is the first thing taught to a Jewish child and the last words spoken before death. From Rabbi Akiva, who recited it as the Romans took his life, to the countless souls who whispered it in history's darkest hours — the Shema has never fallen silent.

THE MUSIC:

This composition follows the Sephardic-Andalusian tradition, beginning with a single voice in a vast, ancient synagogue and building to an overwhelming chorus that carries 3,000 years of faith. The arrangement mirrors the Shema's own power — from intimate whisper to cosmic declaration." from the video introduction
